Lost n Found
Lost and found is a collective composed of multidisciplinary, creative and enthusiastic individuals that focus on branching out and demonstrating their interests and identities. As the collaborative group we would focus on creating various curated events (e.g., pop-up exhibitions, day-or-night activations, fashion showcases, art expositions of any type of form, etc.), to demonstrate different aspects of street/urban and interdisciplinary arts culture through the expertise, experience and the perspectives of our members.
The goal of the collective will amplify, evolve and preserve subcultures within Maastricht, where raw expression leads the way. Lost and Found is set to be a community driven project, where each member could contribute in any way they see fit (creatively), offering a flexible, and an inclusive environment.
As a community led initiative, where each member can participate in ways that align with their strengths, we actively seek collaborations with other communities, artists, organisers and brands, that are based locally or that share the same values as Lost and Found. Long term partnerships with our members or collaborators, offers strong support to creative sustainability, ultimately affecting the cultural background of Maastricht. Our deeper purpose lies in preserving the subcultures within Maastricht. We offer students and individuals around Europe alternative and urban showcases, with support to the artists and our talented members.
We envision Maastricht as a city that acts as a thriving inclusive arts ecosystem, where alternative subcultures, street culture and interdisciplinary arts are recognised, sustained and have the possibility to grow/evolve. Lost and Found aspires to bring forward underground and multidisciplinary art practices as vital cultural contributions and not just peripheral expressions.
As a community, our work is based on constantly adaptive and collaborative effort. We do not expect our members to focus on commercialized self expression, as such practices do not stand behind our visions. All of the individuals that have a talent and want to express it and that are willing to work alongside other professionals/artists, will have the opportunity to do so, through our curated events. The image of the community lies within its people and the talents that we represent, not within the brand itself.
Ultimately, we want to contribute to a future where creative communities and alternative culture are preserved and emphasized. Lost and Found believes that all creatives (especially locally-based due to the sustainability) have the right to be recognised and demonstrated to the public. We aim to dismantle the cultural barriers by connecting people with different and diverse backgrounds, generations and disciples through a shared artistic integrity and thorough support.
