The Ibero-American Book Fair in Canada is the country’s largest Spanish-language book fair and a vibrant platform dedicated to celebrating literature, reading, and the rich cultural heritage of the Ibero-American world.

The Fair brings together independent publishers, authors, translators, illustrators, booksellers, distributors, educators, cultural professionals, and other stakeholders from the literary and publishing community. It provides a unique space for authors and publishers of Latin American and Iberian origin living in Canada to showcase their work, connect with readers, and foster meaningful relationships within Canada’s diverse literary and cultural landscape.

The Fair is an important meeting point for writers and professionals seeking to promote, exchange, and share their work with audiences across the country. It offers readers the opportunity to discover books by Ibero-American authors and to explore literature in Spanish and other languages that reflect the diverse voices, histories, and cultural traditions of the region.

The event also brings together teachers, cultural managers, illustrators, booksellers, distributors, representatives of Latin American embassies in Canada, and other organizations and professionals committed to the promotion of books, reading, and cultural exchange.

La Feria Iberoamericana del libro en Canadá (FILibro Canadá) es un evento que se realiza cada año en Ottawa en el mes de octubre por ser el Mes de la Herencia Latinoamericana en Canadá y el Mes de la Herencia Hispana en Ontario. FILibro Canadá está conformada por un colectivo de escritores, editores y gestores culturales. Está registrada como una Asociación General en la Provincia de Ontario.

Misión

Crear espacios para la promoción de la literatura, la lectura y la venta de libros de autores de países iberoamericanos residentes en Canadá. Igualmente invitar autores consagrados para crear un verdadero diálogo a nivel nacional e internacional.

Crear espacios en los que escritores y personas afines a la industria literaria convergen para intercambiar ideas, hacer contactos, crear alianzas, conseguir editoriales, distribuidores, traductores y ofrecer lecturas y conversaciones moderadas por expertos.

Visión

Incrementar el intercambio en Canadá entre escritores, editores, editoriales, distribuidores, librerías, ilustradores y traductores de origen iberoamericano.

Aumentar la visibilidad de la literatura escrita en español en Canadá e idealmente en los otros idiomas hablados en los países de Iberoamérica como el portugués, lenguas autóctonas y además en traducción a los idiomas oficiales de Canadá, el inglés y francés.

Crecer de manera que se convierta en una feria de varios días y que sea un referente a nivel nacional e internacional.
