Kimberly Coleman started playing violin in fourth grade public school. "I started playing the instrument to get out of class and go on a lot of field trips, and then fell in love with it!” she exclaims. She obtained a BA in Music Management in 2007 from Georgia State University. Kim, also known as Kim Strings, is a free-lance classical and studio musician of jazz and R&B influences. An innately gifted teacher, she was Beginning/Intermediate Strings Conductor of Still Waters Youth Sinfo-Nia Orchestra of Metropolitan Atlanta for 8 years. She has played for various social events such as Emmy Award winner, Hank Stewart's "White Linen Event," the Georgia Governor's Mansion and other organizations. Kim appeared as a musician extra in the American drama series “Vampire Diaries,” Tyler Perry's "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" and "Madia's Family Reunion," as well as the reality TV show “Atlanta Housewives.” She served as background musician to several independent vocalists and poets and has been in the company of Jeffmajors, Andre 3000, Musiq Soulchild, and Neo. Currently, Kim Strings is promoting her GoFundMe campaign to record her debut album "Keep It Moving" to advocate the significance of music education in schools. "I want to send a message that anything is possible, regardless of your journey.” My motto is: "Do what you love, and love it for life!"
