LIVEwire Poetry
LIVEwire is a brand-new poetry organisation formed at the beginning of 2024. We specialise in live events and writer development. LIVEwire evolved from an organisation called Nymphs & Thugs - an independent spoken word record label and events producer formed in 2015. We run regular nights in Leeds, Manchester, and Weston-super-Mare and workshop series in Huddersfield, Blackburn, Clevedon, and online.
Based in Leeds but operating nationally, our core team includes poet and educator Matt Abbott, cultural entrepreuner Jack Simpson, and acclaimed poet and playwright Maria Ferguson.
