Manchester Advocacy Alliance
We are a network of people and organisations working together to enable more people to have their voices heard when it comes to their health and care.
We are facilitated by VoiceAbility, who are receiving funding from Manchester City Council on behalf of Manchester Local Care Organisation to develop and support the alliance.
We are creating a shared understanding of the barriers that prevent people being heard, especially communities that are already marginalised. We aim to work with members of those communities to co-design solutions that remove these barriers and reduce inequities. The Advocacy Alliance will serve as a central platform to share resources, drive community engagement, and empower more people to advocate for themselves, their families, and their communities.
We’re eager to engage with people, organizations, and communities to shape this initiative into something that’s meaningful and effective for all citizens of Manchester.
Information about VoiceAbility
We make sure people are heard when it matters most. We’ve been supporting people to have their say in decisions about their health, care and wellbeing for over 40 years. We’re an independent charity and one of the UK’s largest providers of advocacy and involvement services, with local teams around the country.
Advocacy is free, independent support to involve people in decisions about their health, care and wellbeing.
Advocacy means working with someone to help them understand their options, know their rights and say what they want.
