Melanated Melon
Melanated Melon Corporation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting families impacted by childhood cancer across South Carolina and surrounding regions. Founded by Kathryn B. Martin, a mother, veteran, REALTOR®, and community advocate, the organization provides essential support through programs such as Food & Fuel Cards, grief resources, emergency assistance, and family advocacy. Melanated Melon ensures that no family feels alone during treatment, survivorship, or loss.
Kathryn’s passion for this work is deeply personal, born from her own journey as a bereaved mother who transformed grief into purpose. Her mission is to build a compassionate network of care, expand awareness around childhood cancer, and uplift families with dignity and hope.
In addition to her nonprofit leadership, Kathryn is also the owner of Kat Signature Homes, where she brings her commitment to service, integrity, and community into the real estate world. She proudly serves clients throughout South Carolina and North Carolina, helping families find security, stability, and a place to call home.
