N&S CAMHS Trauma, Anxiety and Depression Clinic
We are the National & Specialist CAMHS Trauma, Anxiety and Depression (TAD) Clinic. We are a multi-disciplinary team of psychologists and psychiatrists offering specialist assessment and treatment for children and young people with emotional difficulties. This includes those experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety disorders and unipolar depression.
Many of the young people we work with have severe and complex difficulties, including neurodevelopmental conditions. We often see young people who have been under the care of their local CAMHS team for some time and have not responded to several interventions. We also work with young people in inpatient units to provide second opinion on assessment and treatment.
We deliver clinical training and offer clinical supervision to local teams and schools. We collaborate with the UK government and local commissioning groups to set up and manage public health initiatives related to disasters and emergencies.
We lead in research on ways of improving and disseminating evidence-based treatments for traumatised young people and their families. People seen in our clinic are often invited to participate in ongoing research projects.
