The primary goal of our group is to bring together experts, researchers, and enthusiasts in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from across Latin America and beyond. Our annual conference serves as a platform to showcase research, innovations, and applications in GIS, with a strong emphasis on both education and technological development.
This year, we proudly celebrate the 6th edition of GIS LATAM, held in collaboration with the 22nd edition of the prestigious international symposium W2GIS 2025 (Web and Wireless GIS). This joint event will bring together two dynamic communities committed to advancing geospatial science and its real-world applications.
Our program features renowned speakers and panelists from the USA, China, France, Colombia, Ecuador, and Mexico, as well as leading organizations and government institutions — including INEGI, Mexico’s national geographic institute.
Beyond presentations, the event fosters regional and international collaboration through:
- Partnerships with universities, government entities, and industry leaders
- Joint programs, research stays, and thesis collaborations
- Discussion groups on strategic topics such as open data, spatial intelligence, funding calls, and academic exchange
This initiative is organized under the framework of the Space Intelligence Workshop, which facilitates connections between institutions and emerging projects in GIS, remote sensing, and spatial data science.
