Queer Night Out
Who are we?
Queer Night Out (QNO) is a community collaborative supported by the Rainbow Coalition of Waterloo Region dedicated to creating in person, safe, social opportunities for members of a local 2SLGBTQ+ or rainbow community to meet and connect. We strive to be inclusive of a wide range of sexual orientations and gender identities.
Our History
QNO was formed as a collaboration between the AIDS Committee of Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo and Area (ACCKWA), Spectrum, tri-Pride and the Waterloo Region Rainbow Coalition (now the Rainbow Coalition of Waterloo Region) in 2013 with the intent of organizing social events targeted at the rainbow community in Waterloo Region. These events were organized to fill a recognized need for community social gathering space in light of the closure of Kitchener-Waterloo’s only dance club serving the rainbow community.
Current Collaborators
QNO is constantly evolving with some organizations leaving and others invited to join, as each partner organization contributes what they can in light of their current resources and priorities. As noted above. QNO is currently supported by the Rainbow Coalition of Waterloo Region.
